Each year, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Department of Catholic Schools recognizes graduating seniors for their outstanding work in the area of Christian service. 78 seniors, representing 51 high schools spread over 3 counties gathered for a Mass at the Cathedral, where Archbishop Gomez applauded them for their commitment to social justice and change, and encouraged them to continue a life of service to others.
In addition, 5 teachers in the Archdiocese were recognized for their commitment to leading students in making meaningful change in their communities and schools.
This year, St. Anthony is proud to have 2 seniors and 1 teacher recognized at the awards Mass.
Congratulations to seniors Clarissa Tacto and Ricky Contreras for earning these special awards. Also, congratulations to Sophomore Religion teacher, Brett Minter for being selected as one of the teacher recipients. Clarissa was recognized for her years of service as a volunteer in her home parish. Ricky has completed hours in a nbozf509*umber of areas, most notably in working as a camp counselor for a summer camp. Mr. Minter has had a long dedication to Miller Children’s hospital, where he takes students monthly to work with and visit ill children, as well as countless other outreach programs he runs through his Religion classroom.
Congratulations to all of you. You are a proud example of what it means to be a SAINT.
