MORRISON STEPS DOWN AS ST. ANTHONY BASKETBALL COACH
Long Beach, CA. St. Anthony High School has announced that Head Basketball Coach Chris Morrison has stepped down from his post after three years as head coach for the Saints. Morrison will continue as a teacher at the high school.
“Over the last three years Coach Morrison has provided a strong presence as Head Coach and helped our teams enjoy success” stated Brian Walsh, St. Anthony Athletic Director. “While we will miss Coach Morrison’s talents, we sincerely wish him all the best as he focuses on his continued education and also coaching at the collegiate level. We are happy Coach Morrison will remain as a teacher and continue to educate our young men and women here at St. Anthony High School”.
In Morrison’s three years at the helm, the Saints were Santa Fe League Champions twice, made the CIF playoffs each year, and compiled a 50-30 record. “It was not an easy decision to make but I felt I needed to focus more time on my education and coaching at Cerritos College. As an alum of St. Anthony, I enjoyed returning to my alma mater to coach and keeping the Saint tradition alive,” said Morrison. “I am excited to remain at St. Anthony High School and have the opportunity to teach such great students”.
