On August 18 & 19 we welcomed the largest freshmen class since 1991. 140 new Saints began their high school journey culminating in nearly a year of decision making, testing, application, interviews and finally acceptance.
They represent a cross section reflective of the greater Long Beach area's diversity and each has demonstrated their academic prowess in the classroom at their respective elementary or middle school.
We have every reason to believe this energetic group will help to continue our tradition of 100% moving on to college after graduation.
The class spent time on Aug 18 with Principal Mike Schabert and 34 of our President's Ambassadors who enjoyed a morning called "Freshmen Experience." They enjoyed bonding activities, some competition, fun and learned a lot about what to expect from the Ambassadors who gave them a warm welcome.
They returned the following day for Freshmen Orientation. 48 of our President's Ambassadors facilitated their familiarization with our campus by providing guided tours in groups of 6 - allowing ample time for questions and clarification. The new Saints also had an opportunity to meet and hear from each member of our Faculty & Staff. A brief trek through a typical day of classes provided them an opportunity to become familiar with their surroundings while the upper classes were at home enjoying one last day of summer vacation.
They looked great in our updated SA Uniform that now sports our colors in vivid Purple & White with accents of khaki and grey. The courtyard is alive with our colors but more importantly with some of the best enthusiasm and spirit our campus has seen in many years. This group has proven that it's...
GREAT TO BE A SAINT!
