SAINTS contribute over 4,000 cans of food to CATHOLIC CHARITIES

Our generous Community of Saints embarked on a Canned Food Drive on Nov 9. It culminated on Nov 24 with Mr. Schabert’s announcement that we had exceeded our goal of 3,000 cans by more than a 1,000! Many thanks go out to our students, their families and our faculty and staff for their extraordinary effort to ensure that the less fortunate in our community receive assistance, especially during the holidays.

Anna Totta, Regional Director of Catholic Charities, was thrilled with our donation. Anna advised the number of families in need has risen sharply with the recent recession while the number of donations has declined. Catholic Charities will ensure that all of our collection efforts will be well placed.

Keith Jones, also of Catholic Charities, arrived on time today to pick up the cans. He was met by 28 eager helpers from Mrs. Reeder’s 3rd period religion class who methodically maneuvered it all from the campus ministry office into the Catholic Charities truck. Our very best goes out to the many families who will benefit from our contributions.
